Triangular Moving Average (TMA)

This moving average is a simple moving average that has been averaged another time. It still shows the average price over a number of previous prices, but it is averaged twice to make the drawn line smoother.

The Triangular Moving Average is calculated not by adding the previous prices, but by adding the SMA of those points and averaging those.

SMA = (P1 + P2 + P3 + P4 + ... + Pn) / n
TMA = (SMA1 + SMA2 + SMA3 + SMA4 + ... SMAn) / n

An interesting fact is that the TMA responds faster to trend changes than the SMA, which seems strange at first, because of the extra averaging that should make it less sensitive to price changes.
