I've never had good consistent luck with MACD and stochastics. Metatrader charts come with Heiken Ashi bar charts and they've worked pretty good for me. The trick is to know when to get out of a trade at the right time. I use a couple strategies now to know when, but it took a while to figure it out and a lot of losing trades.

Everyone is different though so the trick is to find the best forex trading strategy you can and stick with it. What works for one person, may not work for another.

I doubt that there is an ultimate perfect trend indicator. Some get you into or out of a trend sooner or later than others. The sooner you get in, the greater the risk of it being a false alarm. The later you get in, the worse your entry and the greater the risk that you miss a good trade..

Some are more sensitive to change than others. Mose sensitive = more risk, less sensitive = less profit (potentially). So there are compromises.

It's the skill of the craftsman, more than the tool he uses. The magic is in the magician, not the wand... Decide on a trend indicator, then learn it's nuances, get really good at using that tool...
